EDM prodigy Thrizzy, announced the release of his upcoming EP “The Jeffrey” with a visual dedicated to the cult classic “Get Him To The Greek”. Providing an array of heavy drops and electric instrumentation, this project embodies the spirit of the famous drug. “The Jeffrey” is set to release March 2, 2014.
Says Thrizzy, “I came up with the title because in ‘Get Him To The Greek’, the ‘Jeffrey’ was this collection of drugs that made one product. I thought that was the perfect description of this project because it’s a hybrid of sounds that equal one project.”
“EDM provides such flexibility in style and arrangement. I wanted to test my creative boundaries and see how far I could go while staying true to the art form. ‘The Jeffrey’, is a musical rollercoaster that I think a lot of EDM fans haven’t experienced before.”
“The Jeffrey” features the hit singles “Vogue” and “Wayne It”. “Vogue” was featured several times during New York and Chicago’s Fashion Week. Each single received over 13,000 downloads and 80,000 views. The third single, “Mi Badi” is scheduled for release later in the month.
Libyan born electro-pop artist, Zaena, announced her debut EP, “Harlequin” with an eye-catching visual meant to leave more questions than answers. Tapping into the essence of famous comic book villain, Harley Quinn, the EP deals with a mixture of emotions on the societal perception of women throughout time. “Harlequin” will be released March 2, 2014.
Says Zaena, “I am a huge comic book nerd and I think Harley Quinn embodies how women are viewed as both jester and villain by our society. There is a huge misconception that women, especially female musicians, have to stay in this small box. I wanted to rip this box open.”
“I spent a lot of nights reading comics and studying the traditional literature portrayal of a ‘Harlequin’. This EP is a electro-pop experimentation with hard hitting drops. I wrote this project for my fans who demand a broader range of topics covered by female musicians.
The album will include the breakthrough singles “Whiskey and Beer” and “Favorite Tunes”, along with four other songs. Both singles received over 200,000 views and 10,000 downloads. The third single “Feels Like Heaven” is scheduled for release later in the month
Boundary pushing Jason Maek, announced the release of his upcoming EP “Do Epic Sh!t” with a heartwarming visual. Providing a mixture of controversial perspectives, the EP conceptualizes the notion that greatness is achieved by taking a stance. “Do Epic Sh!t” will be released on March 2, 2014.
Jason Maek breaks the mold with his debut EP “Do Epic Sh!t”. His innovative approach to today’s music is shocking to fans and listeners alike. While the trailer has a Disney vibe, the EP is far from commercial. The project touches on topics like racism, sexism, human rights, and complacency.
Says Jason, “When we were kids, no one dreamed of being average. We all wanted to be amazing and accomplish epic things. The difference between those who do and don’t is the ability to be different, take a stance, and lose the fear of failure and judgment. This project was built around that philosophy without the fear of acceptance”.
The album includes the polarizing singles “God Made All Of Us” and “Ew”. Despite push back from several hate groups, “God Made All Of Us” and “Ew” received over 100,000 views and 12,000 downloads. The third single “No Fuxs” is scheduled for release later this month.
